After overhearing his captors discussing ransom payouts, Solman negotiated his own freedom by promising to deliver three additional hostages within 24 hours. Deliver he did, relying only on money, charm, and a knack for persuasion befitting the world’s most chilling cult leaders. Impressed by his lack of empathy for other tourists and his uncanny ability to provide a steady stream of ‘ransom units’ (people), GW offered Solman a spot among them. Taking the highest cut of ransom money of any GW member, Solman had already won before the game truly began.
